Disaster Relief Program -- disaster planning, preparedness, and education for the community. Directly this program provides both emergency mass care and family services to individuals and families with urgent and verified disaster-caused needs. Such help is given on the basis of uniform guidelines and procedures and includes the utilization of available community resources, both public and private. All Red Cross help to disaster victims is a gift of the American people and no repayment is required or requested.

Armed Forces Emergency Services Program -- assistance to members of the United States Armed Forces and their families with emergency communication; health and welfare inquiries; information, referral, and advocacy; humanitarian reassignment and hardship discharge documentation; and emergency financial assistance.

Care and Share Energy Assistance Program -- emergency energy assistance program established by Niagara Mohawk Corporation and the American Red Cross to provide financial assistance with energy-related emergencies to elderly or disabled persons and people with serious medical conditions.

International Program -- international tracing services, mobilization for international disaster relief, as well as community awareness of international humanitarian law.

Blood Services Program -- through a cooperative effort with the New York/Penn Blood Services Region, provides a reliable and adequate supply of blood, blood products, tissue services, and related biomedical products and services to meet the needs of those served by the American Red Cross.
